Baroque is 300 years old, but it still excites and attracts people with its art and philosophy. How did the Baroque period begin? How does the worldview of a person of the 18th century differ from ours? What are the secrets and signs of paintings and manuscripts of the Baroque era?
In 2023, classes at the “Moscow Gnessin Baroque Academy” will be dedicated to 18th century eclectic German style. The course of daily lectures and group practical classes will help students to understand:
- The characteristics of German style in music, painting, architecture, and dance
- What good taste is in music
- The rules of ornamentation and how it is related to basso continuo
- To get acquainted with the interesting movement “Storm and Stress” (“Sturm und Drang”), which emerged in Germany in the 70s-80s of the 18th century.
The “Moscow Gnessin Baroque Academy” offers subscription training. Additionally, course participants can take individual lessons and an ensemble course.
